Will flat black spray paint match well on my flat black motorcycle paint?

I dropped my bike and scratched some flat black pain off the engine. Should the spray paint work? Anyone have experience with this?

More often than not, you can get touch up paint in the exact color of your bike from the dealership. Flat black from one paint company is not necessarily the same shade of black as that from another company. it’s also likely that the ‘paint’ on your engine is NOT paint but powder coat. Paint generally doesn’t work well on things that get really hot. I actually saw powder coat available at Sears with the appropriate ‘gun’ for doing the job. Sounds like an expensive way to go for just one scratch- unless you are going to do this often.
