Why did the Roman soldiers give Jesus such an eloquent funeral?
He was a convicted criminal, but yet they took the time to move a huge boulder over a cave for him. They also buried him above ground and in nice clothes. They never did that, not even for Julius Cesar, he was stripped naked and cremated. Maybe they put make-up on Julius, but that’s it. Why would they go to such lengths, especially since the Romans didn’t believe in expensive burial, for a convicted criminal.
The story is bunk.
