Bristol Bath
Which University to choose Bristol or Bath? which is the best for MSc in Engineering studies?

I am confused between University of Bristol and University of Bath don’t know which one to choose for my M.Sc. 2010/11 in Communication Engineering, because both have equal standards, etc,. I need suggestions from you if you have any. Please tell me which will be the best for me :)

Well.. Bristol isn’t the best but if you’re limited to these areas, I’d say Bristol uni, simply because it’s been on the top 10 list for a while.. can’t be a bad sign ;) I don’t know what kind of person you are, but Bath uni is really posch, I wouldn’t blend in :D

Bristol traces its roots to a grant obtained by Samuel Clift in 1681, William Penns establishment of an estate one year later, and to its location along prime transportation routes. Situated below the fall line of the river and along the main route for land travel, Bristol afforded direct access between Philadelphia and New York City. As more people and businesses started to call the new settlement home, Bristol began to find its place in history. Bristol is a pictorial journey to the roots of one of Americas oldest towns. The book beautifully illustrates its development from a countryside encampment, to the government seat of Bucks County, to the setting of major industry. The growth of Bristol is portrayed through the development of its municipal services, organizations, and entertainment facilities. Furthermore, these images attest to the way Bristol responded to conflict, from the Civil War to World War II, by providing ships, airplanes, and its own heroes. A remarkable collection of images from the Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library and other sources tells the story of a truly unique place. Bristol 411

Bristol 411

$58.94

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Bristol 411 is a car which was built by the British manufacturer Bristol Cars. It was the fifth series of Chrysler V8engined Bristol models. With the 411, Bristol, for the first time since the 407 was introduced, made a change of engine. Although they were still using a Chrysler V8 engine, the old A type engine was gone. Replacing it was the much larger bigblock B series engine of 6,277 cc (383 cubic inches) as compared to the 5,211cc of the 410. This much larger engine gave the 411 an estimated 30 percent more power than had been found in the 410. The 411 was capable of 230 km/h (143 mph). To cope with this extra power, a limited slip differential was fitted so that the car skidded much less at high speeds. The interior showed a number of important changes from the Bristol 410, famously driven by Paul Lewis. The traditional Blmel twin spoke steering wheel was replaced by a more practical threespoked leatherwrapped wheel, which as a result of the traditional Bristol badge being removed from the front of the car, was the only place where this badge was retained. The Bristol Pegasus is a British ninecylinder singlerow aircooled radial engine. Used mainly for military aircraft in the 1930s and 1940s, Bristol reused the name many years later for the turbofan engine used in the Hawker Siddeley Harrier; that engine later became known as the RollsRoyce Pegasus. Two Bristol Pegasus engines remain airworthy in 2009, powering Fairey Swordfish aircraft operated by the Royal Navy Historic Flight. The Bristol Channel is a major inlet in the island of Great Britain, separating South Wales from Devon and Somerset in South West England, and extending from the lower estuary of the River Severn to the North Atlantic Ocean. It takes its name from the English city of Bristol and is over 30 miles across at its widest point. The lower limit of the Bristol Channel is drawn between St Govans Head in Pembrokeshire, Lundy Island, and Hartland Point in Devon. The upper limit is between Sand Point, Somerset and Lavernock Point in South Wales. East of this line is the Severn estuary. Western and Northern Pembrokeshire and North Cornwall are outside of the limit of the Bristol Channel, and are considered part of the seaboard of the Atlantic Ocean. The Bristol Channel, on both the South Wales and West Country sides, has Heritage Coast including Exmoor, Bideford Bay, the Hartland Point peninsula, Lundy Island, Glamorgan, Gower peninsula, South Pembrokeshire and Caldey Island. In 2004, The Times Travel magazine selected Barafundle Bay in Pembrokeshire as one of the best twelve best beaches in the world. The Bristol Jupiter was a British ninecylinder singlerow piston radial engine built by the Bristol Aeroplane Company. Originally designed late in World War I and known as the Cosmos Jupiter, a lengthy series of upgrades and developments turned it into one of the finest engines of its era. The Jupiter was widely used on many aircraft designs during the 1920s and 30s. Thousands of Jupiters of all versions were produced, both by Bristol and abroad under license. A turbosupercharged version of the Jupiter known as the Orion suffered development problems and only a small number were produced. Bristol 407

Bristol 407

$66.91

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Bristol 407 was a luxury car produced by British manufacturer Bristol Cars between 1961 and 1963. It was the first Bristol model to be made under the present administration after their separation from Bristol Aeroplane Co., which had built all previous Bristol models. Outwardly it resembled the 406 which had been produced between 1958 and 1961. The only changes were very subtle, comprising a single horizontal bar on the radiator grille, which was steadily increased in size from the 405 to the 406 through to the 407, plus two exhaust pipes instead of one at the rear. However, under the bonnet of the 407 was not the old BMWderived sixcylinder engine that was now inadequate for Bristols to be able to compete in performance with other British makes of luxury car. Replacing the old sixcylinder engine was a 5130 cc (313 cubic inch) Chrysler V8, built in Canada, that reestablished Bristols credentials in the field of performance cars. The engine gave the 407 a maximum speed of over 125 mph (201 km/h). Bristol 450

Bristol 450

$70.1

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Bristol Type 450 was a successful sports car racing prototype model, designed in 1953 by Bristol Cars and based on the abortive ERA Gtype Formula Two car of 1952. Although most sources state that only three 450s were built, photographic evidence suggests that at least four were in existence at one point in time. The cars were constructed specifically to contest the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race, at which they won both their class and the team prize in both 1954 and 1955. In addition to its race victories, the Bristol 450 also took a number of outright speed records for the 2 litre class during trials at the Montlhry circuit in 1953. Following the 1955 Le Mans disaster, which killed Pierre Levegh and 83 spectators, Bristol withdrew from direct involvement in motorsport and all but one of the 450s were broken up. Bristol Bridge

Bristol Bridge

$63.73

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Bristol Bridge is an old bridge over the floating harbour in Bristol, England. The original bridge was a medieval wooden structure that had both its sides lined with houses. A seventeenth century illustration shows that these were five stories high, including the attic rooms, and that they overhung the river much as Tudor houses would overhang the street. At the time of the Civil War the bridge was noted for its community of goldsmiths, who may have been attracted by the unusually secure premises. Its population was also perceived to be strongly parliamentarian. In the 1760 a bill to replace the bridge was carried through parliament by the Bristol MP Sir Jarrit Smyth. The commission accepted the design of James Bridges and the bridge was built by Thomas Paty between 1763 and 1768. Resentment at the tolls exacted to cross the new bridge occasioned the Bristol Bridge Riot of 1793. The bridge is now a grade II listed building.
