Can I change my bathtub drain?
I just changed the faucet and showerhead from chrome to bronze. However, the drain and overflow thing are still chrome and not bronze. A few plumbers told me that it is impossible to do without removing the tub and changing the entire drain pipe fixture. But I see where they sell “bathtub waste conversion kits” online. It looks like the drain apparatus would just screw out and the overflow thing can be removed by removing the screws.
Does anyone have any experience with this?
Is this a simple project that I can do or would we really have to remove the tub and replace the entire drain system?
My tub is an American Standard whirlpool. sorry, I don’t know the model #.
