I have a Dell Inspiron with ATI Catalyst control center icon on task bar. do I need this.What is it ?

I have never run the install wizard. I’m told I should consider uninstalling it. Is this a program running in the background? Is it safe to uninstall?

The ATI Catalyst Control is a software that comes with your video drivers. you don’t need to uninstall it. what you can do is just disable the icon on the task bar and it will stop bothering you. here is what you need to do:

Right click on the ATI catalyst icon. select Catalyst Control Center. Now click where it says preferences and now click on the check-mark that is besides enable system tray menu option. Then click OK and you will be fine.
