Why was Obama sexist to Hillary Clinton in the primaries?
Obama has been linked to several sexist remarks, but read what he said to Hillary in one debate:
“You challenge the status quo and suddenly the claws come out.” And, “You know, over the last several weeks since she fell behind, she’s resorted to what’s called ‘kitchen sink’ strategies. . . . She’s got the kitchen sink flying, and the china flying, and the, you know, the buffet is coming at me.”
That sounds like he thinks Hillary should be in the kitchen!!!!!!!!!
So is Obama sexist?
You obviously do not understand what “the kitchen sink strategy” means. It has nothing to do with the belief that women should stay in the kitchen and everything to do with the strategy Hillary Clinton actually used.
The idea of “throwing everything but the kitchen sink” at someone means basically that you are launching every possible attack against a person, regardless of how tasteful or even useful it may be. This is an accurate depiction of how Hillary ran her campaign – she pulled no punches, and even had her people resort to tactics that could considered nothing less than bigoted, intolerant, and even racist. Levying unfair and inaccurate accounts of sexism would be included here too.
So to answer your question – Obama is not a sexist and unlike Clinton, never stooped so low as to use his gender or race to win the primaries (he saved the race bating for the general election). I hope this helps.
