Is water and and lemon juice a safe cleaner for battery acid?

I pulled out my old key broad from under the bed to reteach myself how to play and it turns out that every single one of the six batteries in there had leaked. I looks online and there are lots of different ways to clean the acid up, a mixture of water and lemon juice or water and baking soda and even coke. Are these things really safe to use on the inside of an appliance like this?

If the acid has dried and left some corrosion, just sand down the contacts and you should be ok
