my washing machine isnt spinning. the water wont drain away but the filter is clear, what can I do?

help me im a damsel in distress!!!

ok. put the machine on a wash program if it rotates you then rule out (a)dead motor or no noise from motor(b) broken drive belt if this is broken you will still hear the motor. if both seem ok empty machine unplug it . take off the back cover you should see the pump this should have a funny shape hose on it. take this of and in the pump or hose you should find the blockage. good luck (p.s) bet its a kiddies sock
