how do i connect thichness of material to squeeze force required to get same material out of bottle?
i have product. i need to know hw i relate thickness of product to squeeze force required to squeeze same product out of a plastic bottle with nozzle.
I have consumer product in a bottle. Now to define good and bad product i done some consumer testing. Consumer defined this product good or bad depends on squeeze force they have to apply to get product out of bottle and 2nd is products flow from bottem of bottle to nozzle. Now what i done next is i ran Dispensing Test to replicate consumer and see if product is too thick(High viscosity) so that its very hard to get it out of bottle or its too thin(Low viscosity) that it drips which both means product failure. Now i need technical method to describe this behaviour and define boundry for product. So far we were using Yield point method on Rheometer but as yield point doesnt describe whole consumer experience (specilly Squeeze force required and product flow to nozzle) What else i can look for to define this.
The fluid property you need to look into is called the viscosity. The more viscous a fluid is, the more force needed to sqeeze it through a hole of a given diameter.
I could tell you more if I knew more about what you’re trying to figure out, but unfortunately, the equations that govern frictional losses in fluids get very complicated. A lot depends on the speed at which the fluid is being ejected, as this infuelces both the flow patterns of the fluid (turbulent versus laminar) and often the actual viscosity of a fuid is dependent upon the rate of flow.
