how can i cure my ocd. why do i always have a feeling that an electronic or faucet is on and have to check it?

i have to go in a specific order to make sure everything is off and i cant help doing it. i tell myself its stupid and a waste of time but i do it anyway. it takes anywhere from 5-15 mins to finish making sure then i can sleep or leave the house.

your key is exposure therapy.

dont check the electronics. don’t check the faucet.
it’s gonna drive you nuts, completely nuts, and your anxiety level is going to go WAY up… but things have to be worse before they can get better.

so once you stop checking, you’ll stop caring… and itll go away.

try watching the show ‘obsessed.’ it has people with OCD and what they do to take the steps to heal. it’s really interesting.

i have slightly ocd-istic tendencies, but you just gotta quit, cold turkey.
