Why Does my bathroom faucet produce white water?

When I turn on the faucet in our bathroom, the hot water is white. I let the water sit in cup for a few hours to see if it is simply bubbles or something harmless, but the consistency does not change. It appears to be some type of sediment. Any thoughts as to what this may be?

Scale build up in your water heater.

Turn it off, turn off the water, and connect a hose to the spigot at the bottom of the tank, and then drain it completely. When it is drained, turn the water on to rinse out any left over sediment. When the water runs clear, close the spigot, refill the tank, fire it up and enjoy.

Should be done about once a year.
