How do I change out the stem washer on outside frost proof hose faucet?
It is leaking, i think that the washer needs replacing.
Turn off the main shut off.
Turn the hose bib handle all the way open to give yourself some room.
Unscrew the nut behind the faucet handle.
If you cannot pull the faucet directly out then unscrew it by means of the handle.
Once the stem is out, unscrew the screw on the end that holds the washer in place.
Replace the washer and reverse the above steps.
