Should I fill a pool with water straight from a well or water with a filter and softener?
I filled my above ground swimming pool up with well water. The water was fine for a couple of days and then it turned brownish-green. I am trying a clarifier right now. I’ve checked the filter pump hose and the saltwater system hoses and those seem to be fine. Would it be better to fill the pool up with water that has a filter and a softener? Thanks.
Use the well water. Treated water, or water that has been softened will contain salts that you don’t want in your pool since they may mess up your pool chemical composition. Sounds like you got an algae bloom, probably need to run the circulation pump more often.
