how hard is it to replace the seal between the flange and the sink on a leaking garbage disposal.?

The sink only leaks when the stopper is in the drain.
The flange moves.

Just carefully tighten the flange and see if that stops the leak. If it doesn’t you will have to remove it, replace the plumbers putty and reinstall it.

It would be good if you could get an experienced person to help you because if you have to remove the flange you have to remove the plumping and often it can break, or leak and some if will have to be replaced. It is pretty easy stuff to do if you half way know what you are doing.
