What is a good STRONG pool pump for an above ground pool?

We have an 18foot above ground Intex pool. It was a cheapy pool from Walmart. It was actually given to us by somebody who no longer used it and didn’t have the time to maintain it. They also went through 2 pumps with it when they had it. We finally got it all hooked up and set up, but…again…the pump died. Is there any other STRONGER pump that we can use with this type of pool? It’s an 18ft Intex pool.

The Intex Pumps are powered by what we call hair dryer motors. They do a minimal job in light duty applications. For pools under 10000 gallons like yours we recommend a heart Cartridge filter, these are not your intex filters…these are big boy tough guy filters
