are these chemicals harmful to fish, shrimp or snails?
The copper will be death to all invertebrates, the snails and shrimp. They are highly sensitive to even a small amount.
Only use something rated for aquarium use. I personally use Seachem Flourish, and I have snails, shrimp, and a few sensitive fish. Plants are growing like weeds, fish show no signs of discomfort. Flourish does have a tiny amount of copper, but is safe for inverts.
